Program Committee Description
Committee Objective:
Develop, plan and deliver 12-14 programs,
PEBA's most valued deliverable, each calendar year that meet the
education and development needs of PEBA members.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work with other PEBA committees to evaluate PEBA member needs and industry issues/trends
- Develop between 12 – 14 relevant and timely program topics for a calendar year.
- Assure that programs address the needs of the health & welfare, pension, compensation, disability, and general HR professional.
- Secure quality speakers for each program and set the program format.
- Work with the PEBA staff to develop appropriate marketing materials and confirm other logistics.
- Each committee member will be responsible for coordinating 1-2 programs a
year with another committee member.

PEBA members, General HR, Benefits, and Compensation community
Time Commitment
The committee will meet approximately 8 times per year to develop topics,
confirm details, and evaluate progress. Each committee member is expected to
coordinate 1-2 programs per year. All committee members are expected to assist in the development of topics and securing speakers.
Committee Member Profile: Committee Members should . . .
- Be seasoned professionals with strong general knowledge of all HR/Provider areas of expertise
are needed
- Have a network of contacts from which to draw speakers and a
willingness to contact them.
- Be able to develop program topics and formats.
- Be comfortable working both on a team and independently.
- Commit to spending time with small group planning, writing, and
running through the program in advance of presentation.
- Commit to meeting strict deadlines.
