Committee Description
Committee Objective:
Develop, plan
and deliver approximately 15 programs, PEBA's most valued deliverable, each
calendar year that meet the education and development needs of PEBA members.
Key
Roles & Responsibilities:

Work with other PEBA committees
to evaluate PEBA member needs and industry issues/trends

Develop between approximately 15
relevant and timely program topics for a calendar year, including our annual
boot camp series.

Assure that programs address the
needs of the health & welfare, pension, compensation, disability, and general
HR professional.

Secure quality speakers for each
program and set the program format in a timely manner.

Work with the PEBA staff to
develop appropriate marketing materials and confirm other logistics.

Each committee member will be
responsible for coordinating approximately 2 programs a year with another
committee member in a timely manner- developing the topic, finding the
speakers, developing a program description, and coordinating necessary
preparation calls with speakers.

PEBA
members, General HR, Benefits, and Compensation community
Time
Commitment:
The
committee will meet approximately 4 times per year in person, and 4 times via
conference call to develop topics, confirm details, and evaluate progress. Each
committee member is expected to coordinate approximately 2 programs per year.
All committee members are expected to assist in the development of topics and
securing speakers.

Be seasoned professionals with
strong general knowledge of all HR/Provider areas of expertise are needed

Have a network of contacts from
which to draw speakers and a willingness to contact them.

Be willing to reach out to
potential program sponsors for their event

Be able to develop program topics
and formats.

Be comfortable working both on a
team and independently.

Commit to spending time with
small group planning, writing, and running through the program in advance of
presentation.

Commit to meeting strict
deadlines.
