Chief
Medical Officer of Medical Affairs
Express Scripts
As chief medical officer
of medical affairs, Dr. Weisbart is charged with the following
responsibilities:
-
Ensuring the clinical
integrity of all Express Scripts products and services, including drug
formulary development, clinically sound tools for managing
pharmaceutical expense trends, clinical care management, and strategic
analysis

Representing Express
Scripts on medical policy issues to clients and other external groups
-
Speaking nationally
about ambulatory medication safety and enhancing the value of the
pharmacy benefits
Prior to joining Express
Scripts in 2003, Dr. Weisbart had more than 17 years of experience in
medical management and consulting. He served as medical director for
quality improvement and primary care for the Dreyer Medical Group and was
the chief medical officer for the Anchor Medical Group, associated with
Rush Medical Center. Dr. Weisbart also practiced as a provider of direct
patient care from 1982 to 2002 in family practice and urgent care
settings. A frequent author and reviewer for several medical journals,
Dr. Weisbart is now an attending physician at Washington University
Medical School in St. Louis.
Ken Baldwin
Principal Mercer |
Ken is a senior consultant and
small/mid-market leader in the Philadelphia office of Mercer Health and
Benefits. As the small/mid-market leader, he specializes in clients with less
than 5,000 employees. Ken is a former underwriter with Prudential and has spent
more than 25 years working on designing plans with cost containment in mind and
11of those years in a consulting capacity. As a consultant and team leader, Ken
is responsible for managing accounts as well as being a liaison with the
carriers. He has been an active member of many focus groups looking for ways to
help design products that provide cutting edge benefits while understanding the
need to control the increases in cost both within Mercer and with the market.
Ken's work in the small and mid-market
space, which he has developed over the past 9 years with Mercer as a consultant
and team leader, complimented by experience in healthcare claims and
underwriting (Prudential), mid and large group consulting (Foster Higgins),
gives a rounded perspective to cost containment initiatives over the years.
