The U.S. Department of Labor's fee disclosure regulations become effective
in spring 2012. Are you ready? Join us to find out what fee information plan
fiduciaries will be receiving from vendors, what plan sponsors need to
communicate to plan participants by May 31, 2012 and how to best comply with
the regulations going forward. We will review the key points of the service
provider and participant fee disclosure regulations, the investment and fee
structure for defined contribution investment options, how vendors are
planning on helping plan sponsors to comply with the new regulations and
best practices for fiduciaries and plan investment committees.

Josh D. Bobrin
is an associate in the Business and Finance Department and a member of the
Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group.
Mr. Bobrin
counsels private, public, and nonprofit employers on all facets of executive
compensation and employee benefits, including equity and incentive compensation,
employment and retention arrangements, ERISA compliance, and the design and
drafting of qualified retirement, pension, profit-sharing, and health and
welfare plans. He provides benefits and executive compensation advice on
transactional matters, such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, or
spinoffs. Mr. Bobrin also represents clients in attracting and retaining
executives, and assists them with the similarly complex and highly strategic
issues that come into play with those representations.
Mr. Bobrin
assists companies and board compensation committees in the design and amendment
of plans and programs and employment and retention arrangements for senior
executive management, as well as best practices in the design and administration
of cash incentive, nonqualified deferred compensation, severance, and equity
programs. He also advises boards of directors, compensation committees, and
administrators with fiduciary best practices, compliance procedures, general
governance issues, and securities disclosure relating to executive compensation
and beneficial ownership, including proxy statements. Before joining Ballard
Spahr, Mr. Bobrin was a senior associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers in
Philadelphia, where he worked extensively on employee benefits and executive
compensation matters.
Jon Pliner is an investment
consultant in Towers Watson Investment Services?New York Office. He has 8 years
of experience consulting to large defined benefit and defined contribution
plans, nuclear decommissioning trusts, and other institutional investors. Prior
to joining Towers Watson Investment Services, Jon spent was an actuarial analyst
in Towers Watson’s (formerly Watson Wyatt’s) benefits practice. He has a
bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in mathematics from the University
of Pennsylvania.
Gerry Burke
is a Principal in The Vanguard Group’s Institutional Retirement Plan Services
Department. In that capacity, Mr. Burke manages a team of relationship managers
and relationship executives, overseeing approximate 50 client relationships and
$28B in assets. Mr. Burke has been with Vanguard for 12 years serving in a
variety of leadership roles including Department Head in Vanguard's
Institutional Asset Management group and Senior Product Manager for Vanguard's
Institutional advice initiatives. Prior to joining Vanguard in 2000, Mr. Burke
spent 10 years as a benefits and strategy consultant for Coopers & Lybrand and
PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He earned his B.S. in mathematics at Worcester State
College and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania.
