Mary Kay Leydon
Director of Participant Communication and Education

Mary Kay Leydon is the Director of Participant Communication
and Education. She is responsible for directing the overall
strategic communication and education initiatives for the
employer, working to increase participant awareness and
engagement.
Leydon joined Lincoln Financial Group early in 2011 as the
head of the participant segment marketing. She brings to
Lincoln Financial Group over 25 years’ experience in
strategic marketing and communications.
Prior to joining Lincoln Financial Group, Leydon was the
vice president of Participant and Plan Sponsor marketing at
Transamerica Retirement Services. Before joining
Transamerica, she was principal of her own consulting
practice specializing in benefits communications. Her
clients included Astra Zeneca, MFS, Mill Creek Capital,
Merrill Lynch and the Hartford.
Leydon also served as the national director for e-business
strategy for MetLife’s Retirement and Savings division.
Prior to joining MetLife, she served as vice president of
marketing for Zurich Scudder (Scudder Kemper) Retirement
Services.
Leydon was nominated in 2009 and 2010 as one of the 100 most
influential people in defined contribution; she has won
numerous awards, including top honors at the PSCA Signature
Awards, MFEA Gold Star awards, Hermes, and others. She is a
member of the IABC and Financial Communicators, and Women in
Pensions organizations. She is co-founder and member of the
Board for Save the Animals, a no-kill animal shelter.
Leydon has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova
