Chris Day
Head
of Business Development and Marketing Aetna Accountable Care
Solutions
Chris Day is Head of Business Development & Marketing and is
responsible for leading work with providers to design and
build new models that deliver more value. Chris previously
reported to Aetna’s Chief Strategy Officer and led
enterprise-wide strategy development efforts on provider
payment and delivery system reform, accountable care,
Aetna’s quality and total cost strategy, health information
technology and personalized, consumer health solutions.
Prior to his work at Aetna, Mr. Day was a Strategy Advisor
at Humana where he led acquisition research and integration
efforts as well as the development of the company’s Medicaid
strategy. He spent five years in Washington, D.C. at the
Public Health Foundation where he led national efforts to
implement a national public health systems research agenda,
validate and refine the Core Competencies for Public Health
Professionals and develop strategies for addressing the
impending public health worker shortage. In 2002, Mr. Day
conceptualized and launched the nation’s premier learning
resource for all professionals who protect the health and
safety of the public, www.TRAIN.org.
Mr. Day is an active volunteer leader and serves as an
Executive Board Member of the American Public Health
Association (APHA), the youngest in the Association’s 136
year history. He previously served as APHA’s National
Student President and on more than 15 national boards
addressing a range of public health and healthcare issues.
He was Finalist for the White House Fellowship, founded four
student-led and alumni organizations and was the recipient
of numerous awards including APHA’s Jay S. Drotman Award for
outstanding leadership and service exemplified by young
professionals and was a 2009 Platinum Winner of the Aetna
Way Excellence Awards.
Mr. Day began his career in Kentucky where he developed
Kentucky’s Statewide Pandemic Plan for Influenza at the
Kentucky Department of Public Health and opened a Spine
Center and the Central Kentucky Sleep Lab for the Hospital
Corporation of America.
Mr. Day holds a B.S. in health services management, B.S. in
biology and a Masters of Public Health from the University
of Kentucky. He was a graduate of the charter class of Yale
SOM’s Leadership in Healthcare MBA program. |

Peter McClung V.P. Client Management
Aetna
Peter R. McClung as VP, Client Management provides strategic
account management for some of Aetna’s largest national
account customers based in the Delaware Valley region.
In the past twelve years at Aetna, Peter has had varied experience
including responsibility for national sales of Aetna’s
Group Medicare , national sales support for State and Local
Government, Account Executive for Delaware Valley National
Accounts, and managing the Delaware Valley team of Account
Managers.
Prior to joining Aetna, Mr. McClung’s career included
positions with Prudential Healthcare including National
Retiree Sales & Product Manager in Atlanta as well as direct
client responsibilities in Prudential HealthCare’s Los
Angeles Group Office,.
A 1991 graduate of Ambassador University in Texas, Peter
has also supervised telemarketing operations, and taught
speech and English classes at Waterfield Institute, a
government-sponsored business school in Sri Lanka. |

Rose M. Morelli
Consultant Charon Planning
Rose M. Morelli has 15 years of experience in the
development, implementation, administration, and analysis of
Health & Welfare programs. As a Consultant and Team Lead,
Rose’s responsibilities include analyzing current benefit
programs and securing and evaluating alternate plans for
client consideration. She utilizes her strong financial
background to help employers monitor plan performance
through in-depth reporting and valuation. Rose delivers
strategic planning and on-going support to clients across a
variety of business sectors.
Prior to joining Charon Planning, Rose developed fee and
rate quotations for self funded and fully insured accounts
as a Senior Underwriter for AmeriHealth Administrators.
Rose is a graduate of La Salle University where she earned
her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business
Administration degrees with studies focused in Finance, Risk
Management, and Insurance. Rose is a continuing education
instructor approved by the Pennsylvania Department of
Insurance and recently served as the Internal Training
Coordinator at Charon Planning. Rose is a member of Charon
Planning’s Evolve Wellness Committee. |

Elizabeth Patterson
Managing Consultant Charon Planning
Elizabeth
is a Managing Consultant for Charon Planning with over 20
years of experience in the employee benefits industry.
Elizabeth Patterson is a team lead that is responsible for
the overall management of client accounts. She is a skilled
project manager assisting our clients to resolve budget
concerns and employee communication issues consistent with
their strategic goals and culture. Elizabeth is also a key
member of Charon Planning’s management team with oversight
of the firm’s compliance and communications department as
well as the firm’s overall consulting practice. She joined
Charon Planning in January, 1999.
Prior to her association
with Charon Planning, Elizabeth worked with a regional
consulting firm where she specialized in helping merger and
acquisition clients consolidate their benefit plans.
Elizabeth had previously spent several years at Prudential
where she worked in the contract department and the sales
office.
Elizabeth is an avid golfer and an active speaker for the
Career Services department at Arcadia University. Elizabeth
has also been asked to conduct presentations for numerous
organizations and events such as: SHRM conferences,
Kreischer Miller’s CFO Symposium, Career Concepts Inc.’s
Leadership Forum at the Pyramid Club, and the UBS annual
plan sponsor summit. Recently, Elizabeth spoke at Littler
Mendelson’s National Employer Conference regarding the topic
of Healthcare Reform. Elizabeth also sits on Aetna’s
National Broker Advisory Committee (NBAC).
Elizabeth earned a Masters in English from Arcadia
University (formerly Beaver College) and a BA in English
with concentrations in Business and Education from Virginia
Tech. She earned the FLMI designation from LOMA (Life
Office Management Association) in 1996 and is currently
pursuing her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist
designation from the International Foundation of Employee
Benefits Plans and the Wharton School of Business. |

Charles Ruegger Consultant Charon Planning
Charlie Ruegger is a Consultant with Charon Planning who has
more than 20 years of experience in employee benefits,
including over 10 years with Charon Planning. As a team
leader, Charlie assists our consultants and clients with the
development of benefit programs that support client
strategies, objectives, and culture. With a strong
analytical background, Charlie’s responsibilities also
include detailed financial analyses of alternative
strategies and programs and presenting those alternatives
for client consideration.
Prior to joining Charon Planning, Charlie spent six years
in a number of underwriting positions with Prudential
HealthCare, most recently as a Senior Corporate Underwriter
in the Dental Operation where he was responsible for
managing compliance with national underwriting policies and
standards and strategic oversight of regional underwriting
locations. Previously, Charlie worked for three years at a
large national benefit-consulting firm where he helped
clients manage and improve their health and welfare benefit
programs.

and a BA in Economics from Rutgers University with
concentrations in Computer Science and Finance. |
