PEBA's 27th Annual Forum

Wednesday, April 22, 2009
The Philadelphia Marriott
12th & Market Streets

The Power of Leadership in Challenging Times

Amid the chaos, one thing is increasingly clear:  successful organizations of the future must strategically leverage their HR resources.

In today’s difficult economic conditions, never before has Human Resources been more critical to your organization’s mission and success.  With shrinking budgets, staff layoffs, and nervous employees, even the most experienced HR leaders must reconsider long-held assumptions and find creative ways to deal with uncertainty.  As an HR practitioner, how can YOU help your company not only survive, but thrive in challenging times?

PEBA’s Annual Forum will provide you with strategies and tools from top companies in the Delaware Valley to reinvigorate the organizational and financial performance of your institution and engage and develop your employees.

Keynote Speaker

About Eli Massar
co-founder and board chair of PhillyCarShare

Eli uses his background in financial management, policy planning, and systems management to serve Philadelphia and Pennsylvania citizens. As the Chief Operating Officer of the Mural Arts Program, Eli streamlined the organization's financial operations.  Prior to the Mural Arts Program, he was Special Assistant at the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, where he focused on improving the efficiency and productivity of the State's vehicle fleet and real estate portfolio. As the Commercial Corridor Manager for the University City District, Eli worked to improve the sustainability of Philadelphia's University City neighborhood by reinvigorating its Baltimore and Lancaster Avenue retail corridors. He has also worked on policy issues for the Philadelphia City Controller's Office and Finance Department.  Innovating on the shared resource concept gained through growing PhillyCarShare, Eli is currently starting up a local business that provides shared commercial kitchen space for caterers and bakers.
