Examines historical influences and trends as well as the
objectives and design of employee benefits plans
Government Regulation of
Benefits Plans
Covers the basic provisions of Social Security, reviews the role
of government in employee benefits plans and identifies the
impact of legislation affecting employee benefits since the
enactment of ERISA in 1974.
Health and Welfare Plans
Covers the features of typical health and welfare benefits
plans, coordination of benefits rules and ERISA provisions
applicable to heath and welfare plans.
Retirement Plans
Addresses employer-sponsored retirement plans, sources of
funding, qualified and nonqualified plans, distribution options
and ERISA provisions applicable to retirement plans.
Pay for Time Not Worked
and The Work Experience
Addresses pay for time not worked and the five elements of the
employee work experience.

Covers the administration and communication challenges and
